The 2004 NBA champions, the Detroit Pistons still with the same starting line up as before are battling against the New Orleans Hornets in a 2 game series due to opposite conferences.
Their next match came on March 12th at the Hornets home court as the Nets would end up lead the Hornets to their 6th loss in a row. The Hornets matched up against the Nets for the first time Febuary 6th at the Nets home court, the Izod Center.Īfter this great match up between rookie Chris Paul and Jason Kidd, this got fans thinking how Chris Paul's future potential will look like as the Nets beat them 99-91. New Jersey Nets lead by all stars Jason Kidd, Richard Jefferson, and high flyer, Vince Carter. This New Jersey squad wasn't as bad as the current day squad as they racked up 49 wins and 33 loses as they finished with the 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference.
On the defensive side,although he wasn't a great defender he was still a pretty decent defender getting around 1 steal a game. plays mostly like the three point shooter of the squad putting up about 8 points per game. Starting most of his games during this season, he was a great contributor to this team with his easy mid range and inside baskets and also by "trying" to play some defense.Ĭoming mostly off of the bench, J.R. Although his stats don't speak much, he is able to come up with big game stops and sometimes able to guard the star player of other teams such as LeBron James on the Cavaliers, and Carmelo Anthony apart of the Denver Nuggets. Rasual Butler is a great defender and role player on the offensive side. With his use of speed, this made him a great contributor on the offensive side of the court, but on defense with his quick hands putting up 1.5 steals per game and 0.1 blocks per game. Although he put up great great stat line during the 2005-06 season, he wasn't in any award talks nor in any all star talks.Ĭoming off of the bench as the sixth man, Speedy used his freakish agility to blow pass defenders for a layup, or an easy mid range jumper. With his amazing play style, he would end up winning the 2006 ROTY and also joined the All- Rookie First Team.Īpart of the Hornets, West was a great facilitator and also a great scorer as he puts up 17.1 PPG as he is seen as the leading scorer for the Hornets team. He plays as the playmaker of the squad throwing up easy plays for teammates such as JR and David in which he then receives an easy assist (averaged 7.8 assist).
